I spoke with a few women who would agree that dating a man 10 or more years older is fun and comes with less drama! If you have ever wondered what it could be like, I will share a few positive aspects of this type of relationship that may help you make up your mind.
FINANCIALLY SECURE/STABLE: When dating an older man, you will often find they are more secure and stable in most areas of their lives. Unlike dating someone in their 20’s an older man has probably saved up money and have some level of consistency in their life. They won’t need to be borrowing from you and won’t be behind on their bills.
NO MIND GAMES/TELLS IT LIKE IT IS: Mind games are never fun and older men quite frankly don’t like to play games either. Older men don’t like to beat around the bush, they tell it like it is and they expect you to be mature and understand their point of view. As well as, maturity comes with real life experiences and older men have more experience than younger. It’s not that younger men enjoy playing mind games, however, generally they are still trying to figure out what it is that they want, which can lead to unintentional mind games.
KNOWS WHO HE IS/CONFIDENT/NOT SCARED OF SHARING EMOTIONS: An older man is generally confident in himself and with his career at this point in his life and is not afraid to show it. He has a grasp on who he is and what he wants in life and isn’t afraid to express his emotions and give and receive affection from his partner. He will appreciate your youth and you may feel more comfortable being true to yourself if you are with someone that is older and more mature.
EXPERIENCE = THEY JUST GET IT/MORE PATIENT/UNDERSTANDING: One thing you will find is an older man just sort of gets it. No matter what is going on, or the situation, they are able to find some sort of understanding, and this comes with experience. Experience from past relationships and just life in general has made this group of men better at communicating and therefore understanding a partner’s needs. Experience in a partner can also come in very handy when it comes to first time decisions for you, such as buying a house, or applying for new programs or credit cards. Having someone in your corner that has already experienced this first hand will often be a great benefit for you and they may have great advice for you along the way.
